JANUARY 15 DEADLINE FOR NRHA EUROPEAN FUTURITY ENTRIES (14.01.2010 by Christa Morris/NRHA)
Tomorrow (Friday, January 15) is the first entry deadline for the 2010 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Futurity. The “Open to the World” mega reining event is scheduled for March 7 - 13, 2010 at the Kreuth facility in Germany and offers more than $250,000 in added money.
The NRHA European Futurity & NRHA Show is the largest NRHA show, in terms of entries, ever to be held outside of the United States. The best four-year-old reining horses from around the world will compete for added money plus awards with the $125,000 added Level 4 Open Futurity division offering the largest purse. The first edition of this top-notch event attracted 300 horses and riders from 16 nations offering total purses and awards of $379,000 – one of the largest purses worldwide in 2009.
The NRHA European Futurity is divided into four levels in both the Open and Non Pro Futurity divisions according to the qualification of the riders. In addition to the NRHA European Futurity, the show offers a full slate of NRHA Ancillary Classes. Deadline for Futurity entries is January 15, 2010 and the deadline for ancillary entries is February 1, 2010.

The 2009 NRHA European Futurity not only attracted competitors from 16 nations, but also visitors and media. More than 10,000 visitors watched go round competition, as well as the exciting finals. In addition, nearly 23,600 visitors per day from 32 countries visited the show’s web site, nrha-european-futurity.com.
Trainers and Breeders’ Point in the Festhalle
Top reining horses and trainers from all over the world meet will converge in Kreuth for the 2010 NRHA European Futurity and provide a perfect platform for marketing. For 2010, the show management of the NRHA European Futurity created a meeting point for breeders and trainers in the beautiful Festhalle Rieden located beside the show arena in Kreuth. Here trainers and breeders will find the perfect surroundings to present themselves and their ranches to reining competitors and fans. A 3 x 3 m booth including business card advertisement in the NRHA European Futurity Program is only EUR 500 (plus VAT). Larger spaces are available as well.
New Nomination Program Begins with 2009 Foals
The NRHA European Futurity is open to all four-year-olds until the 2013 event at which time only horses nominated to the European Futurity Nomination Program can enter. This new nomination program starts with 2009 European born foals with the 230€ nomination fee being due by March 31, 2010. Horses nominated to the NRHA European Nomination Program also are eligible to enter the NRHA Futurity and Derby held in the United States as well. In addition, the program includes a Nominator Incentive in which the person or entity that nominates the foal will receive five percent of that horse’s winnings in any division of the Futurity or Derby whether they still own the horse or not.
